Truckload, LTL and Container Planning

Material Dimensions & Handling Checklist

Collect these data points before asking a qualified carrier or logistics party to assess equipment and routing. Mark every value as confirmed or estimated.

Packed dimensions with units

Length, width and height of each packed unit as shipped, stating the unit of measure (in, ft, mm, m). Note whether figures come from a supplier confirmation or are estimates.

Weight with units

Gross weight per package and total, in lb or kg. Flag estimated weights clearly.

Package count and type

Number of pieces and packaging form, such as pallets, crates, bundles, reels or loose items.

Handling restrictions

Orientation, fragility, moisture or temperature sensitivity and any supplier handling notes.

Confirmed stackability

Record stackability only when the manufacturer or supplier has confirmed it. If unknown, list it as unconfirmed so the carrier can assess it rather than assume.

Logistics & Site Access Planning

Share what is known about each end of the move so qualified carrier or logistics parties can assess the actual equipment and route. Mark any detail that is still an estimate.

  • Pickup location, if known
  • Destination type and address
  • Delivery or pickup appointment requirements
  • Site access limits, such as gate hours or approach restrictions
  • Receiving arrangements and the on-site contact

This is a coordination checklist, not an operating or lifting plan, and it does not set commercial terms.

Identify Each Leg Separately

  • Port or terminal: container release, pickup and return details as confirmed by the relevant parties.
  • Warehouse: receiving hours, dock or appointment requirements, and transfer needs.
  • Jobsite: access route, unloading area, receiving contact and site rules.
  • Onward legs: any further moves between locations, listed with their own origin, destination and timing.

This guide is a coordination checklist only. It is not an operating plan, lifting plan, load calculation or commercial terms. Equipment, capacity and routing must be assessed by qualified carriers or logistics parties for each shipment. We make no universal capacity claims, promise no freight services and state no carrier affiliation.
